Our esteemed client, a prominent organization in Winnipeg, MB, is seeking a dedicated Investment Accountant to join their team. As their trusted partner, Staffmax is assisting in the recruitment process to find the ideal candidate for this rewarding opportunity.
 

Job Summary: As an Investment Accountant with our client, you will be integral to managing financial accounting entries, reconciliations, and reports for various investments. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in executing fixed-income investment back-office functions.

Start Date: Immediate

End Date: 3-month term with the possibility for extension.

Work Location Address: Downtown Winnipeg. Please note that this position requires in-office work as per Company policy.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate financial accounting entries and reconciliations for diverse investment portfolios.
  • Generate comprehensive reports detailing investment activities, ensuring transparency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Execute fixed income investment back-office functions, maintaining meticulous records and facilitating seamless transactions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to analyze investment performance and identify areas for optimization and growth.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes, proactively implementing best practices to enhance financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced certifications such as CPA designation or progress toward completion are highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in investment accounting, financial reporting, or related fields is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in financial software systems, including Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools, is essential.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with a proven ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
