We are looking for an experienced Building Operator for a Commercial Office tower in Halifax.

Building Operator's role is to ensure all commercial tenants and general public enjoy a 1st class safe, environmentally friendly and efficient tower.
Responsibilities:
- oversee and inspect all building functions including mechanical and electrical areas; perform minor repairs & provide direction to trades in maintaining building operations and services
- Provide prompt and efficient service to tenants to ensure satisfactory problem resolution
- Perform preventative maintenance programs for all equipment
- respond to tenant requests in prompt and professional manner
- repair and oversee electrical, plumbing, heating/cooling systems, building integrity
- Ensure corporate building environmental, health & life safety, and risk management programs are implemented and maintained.
- Provide support to other staff members in their duties as may be required
- Able to work on call Emergency rotation as needed
Requirements:
- 3-5 years experience in commercial property management building systems
- Valid Provincial (NS) or Inter-Provincial Second Class Refrigeration Operator’s Certificate or on Inter-Provincial Fourth Class Power Engineer’s Certificate or better is required. Equivalent vocation/technical school training and experience will also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of building HVAC, plumbing, electrical, building automation systems and safety systems
- Experience troubleshooting, calibrating and maintaining pneumatic control systems would be a strong asset.
- Good verbal and written communication skills along with strong customers service abilities
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Mechanical/electrical aptitude and trouble-shooting skills
