Our newest (and focused at hiring) client here in Winnipeg is seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal for their downtown firm
Working in a group setting of 4 Legal Administrators and Paralegals who are all very experienced. You will be part of a dynamic and close knit group. They are welcoming and will support your growth and potential learning.
This role, is in the Corporate Department, one of many departments in this firm
Responsibilities:
- Draft legal documents and correspondence
- Prepare and file court forms/documents
- Manage electronic and physical legal files, including diarizing files
- Telephone calls to/from clients
- Schedule meetings
- Create cheque requisitions and other forms of payment
- Minute books
- Annual Returns
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of the Legal Assistant /Paralegal program or 5+ years of experience in Corporate Commercial or a mix of expriences
- Working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook
- Experience with electronic document management systems is an asset
- Excellent client service
- Proficient and accurate typing skills
- Excellent organization and file management skills along with the ability to work independently or in a team
- Ability to assess and balance multiple tasks with different priority levels
- High attention to detail
Desired Experience:
- ALF Corporate 3.0 software program
- Familiarity with standard Corporate Minute Book documents
- Updating electronic and physical Minute Books
- Due diligence, financing etc
- Preparation of new incorporation packages
- Preparation of dividend resolutions including standard, non-standard, capital and eligible
- Experience with Online Manitoba name reservations
- Experience conducting federal and provincial searches
