Our client is looking for an experienced Maintenance Operations Supervisor to lead a team at a large Commercial property in Red Deer, AB.

This role starts out Temporary till at least the end of January with the potential to go permanent.

The role is responsible for managing and maintaining the property to high standards in a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible manner.

The right candidate will have the ability to lead and provide hands-on support for the Building Operator team consisting of maintenance and admin staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and prioritize daily work orders responding to tenant service requests, ensuring the team provides a high standard of customer service
  • ensure problems, concerns, and complaints are handle to tenant satisfaction in a timely and professional manner
  • Supervise Building Operations team and contracted staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures resulting in quality performance of team and facility
  • Manage energy and utility consumption, providing detailed utility tracking, monthly analysis of meter readings, the buildings sub metering program and meter re-certifications
  • Assist with implementing the corporate occupational health and safety program
  • Oversee all assessments meet expected results while developing any required corrective actions
  • Responsible for implementation of preventive maintenance plan, including building control systems (BAS), energy management system, fire alarm system, lighting control, tenant utility sub metering systems, and CCTV security systems in addition to unscheduled repairs
  • Conduct risk management inspections, remedial actions and reports
  • Document and record daily/weekly logs, incident reports, and life cycle forecasting reports of building equipment

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a commercial, retail, or hospitality setting with direct supervisory experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building operations in all areas of mechanical, fire and safety, electrical and HVAC systems
  • Post-secondary related courses or Fifth Class Power Engineering is preferred.
  • WHIMIS and First Aid trained an asset
  • Basic understanding of financial reports, budget planning and forecasting, procurement
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Ability to read construction drawings with general knowledge of building envelope/construction
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to solve problems and achieve goals using facts and sound reasoning
  • Ability to allocate and prioritize time effectively and manage multiple demands with tight deadlines. Work under pressure and achieve quality results
  • Work environment requires moderate physical effort with the ability to operate in high levels of stress during emergency situations.
  • Work may require repairs or maintenance in inclement or uncomfortable weather-related conditions
