Work Environment:

- Some overtime and after-hours or on-call support required
Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, maintain and support an extensive Ethernet network, delivering Internet and data services
- Analyze, recommend, and implement solutions related to network infrastructure and security
- Maintain corporate firewall, VPN and VOIP systems
- Provision network devices for deployment into core and distribution sites
- Monitor and maintain an IP-based Western Canadian backbone
- Provide support for escalated technical support incidents and network events
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to front-line support staff
- Maintain applications that store customer circuit diagrams, network information, and IP address information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) level certification (or above) or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a large Cisco networking environment
- Minimum of 5 years of technical networking experience including layer 2 and layer 3 routing and switching technologies such as OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VLAN and QOS
- Experience with Radius, TACACS+, Syslog, SNMP. Netflow
- Experience and knowledge of wireless networking equipment, protocols, and standards would be beneficial
- Extremely organized and able to manage priorities in a high-demand environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively mentor technical staff
- Prior experience working for a network or telecommunications service provider would be beneficial
