Description:

We are looking for an experienced Shipping Coordinator for the Winnipeg branch of a Canadian manufacturing company.

Job Summary

The Shipping Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to oversee the timely shipping and routing of all orders that leave Central Operations.

Responsibilities

Coordinating and performing the activities of picking products for shipment.

Coordinating all department activities necessary for maintaining accurate inventory levels.

Preparing and scheduling shipments, and maintaining shipping records in the appropriate systems, including providing tracking or shipping history information to customers on requests.

Preparing weekly orders and sending weekly update to the customers.

Actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Reviewing material shortages.

Answering customer emails or phone inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.

Preparing the daily priority list for the midnight shift.

Reviewing and auditing freight bills for billing accuracy.

Maintaining good housekeeping practices in work area.

Competencies and Qualifications

High school / GED. Successful completion of post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management or business administration is preferred.

Minimum 3 years’ shipping/receiving/stockroom related experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experienced with completing waybills and bills of landing, internal shipments.

Online shipping and tracking experience utilizing common carriers i.e. FedEx, UPS, Purolator

Good knowledge of safe packing methods.

Strong attention to detail with respect to completing invoicing orders accurately and efficiently.

Computer literate with exposure to MRP/ERP/data base systems, plus a working knowledge of MS Office.

Working Conditions

Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs may be required.

Work is performed in a combination of environments.

Will be required to wear protective equipment in designated areas such as: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection and steel toed safety shoes.

Overtime as required.
