Staffmax is looking for Administrative Assistants to fill various government contracts in Ottawa. The objective of this process is to create a pool of qualified candidates to accommodate future needs. WHERE: Ottawa, ON

WAGE: $20 - $37/hr (depending on level of experience)

MUST HAVE: Reliability Security Clearance (or be willing to get one)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning and coordinating logistical requirements for meetings and conferences
  • Scheduling meetings; managing Executive calendar
  • Providing administrative support to project teams, as needed
  • Answering and directing phone calls
  • Writing down minutes and meeting summaries
  • Filing forms and documents
  • Other duties as required by department

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of administrative methods, techniques and practices to make operations as efficient as possible
  • Knowledge of analytic techniques and problem solving skills
  • Ability to establish priorities and deadlines
  • Intermediate use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in administrative setting

EDUCATION:

  • Secondary school - Certificate or Degree in relevant field

TO BE ASSESSED:

  • English Oral & Written skills
  • French Oral & Written skills
  • Knowledge of general administrative practices and procedures
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite such as: Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
