Staffmax is currently assisting our Industry-Leading Engineering Team in Winnipeg with finding an AUTOCAD Technologist and Drafter!

About the Role

Dive into an exciting position where you'll collaborate with skilled Junior and Senior Engineers to create exceptional designs, drawings, and engineering solutions. You’ll have the chance to:

  • Transform ideas into reality by drafting and detailing precise engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with diverse disciplines—Architectural, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical—to integrate designs into cohesive construction packages.
  • Lead project documentation efforts by crafting written specifications and responding to technical inquiries during tender and construction phases.
  • Get hands-on with site visits to gather critical measurements, assess construction progress, and ensure project success.
  • Connect and communicate regularly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration at every stage.
  • Travel to Canada’s North, experiencing the unique and rewarding challenges of Arctic construction projects.

What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for driven, detail-oriented professionals with:

  • 3–10 years of experience as a drafter/designer using AutoCAD. Bonus points for expertise in:
    • Structural: Steel, concrete, mass timber, or wood construction.
    • Mechanical: HVAC, plumbing, fuel systems, or fire protection.
    • Architectural: Interior renovations, building envelope, or Part III NBC projects.
  • Familiarity with other CAD software, especially REVIT.
  • Strong knowledge of design codes and standards.
  • Experience on construction sites, project management systems, and multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Must be willing to travel to Northern Communities for multi days

Preferred Education:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma.
  • Certification or eligibility as an Engineering or Architectural Technologist.
