Staffmax Staffing & Recruiting is helping our client to hire a qualified hands-on Facility Manager to join their thriving team. 

Reporting to the Director of Construction this role is responsible for their 350,000 square foot office and warehouse facility in southwest Winnipeg. The hub of their businesses, the facility is home to company's primary place of work for about 450 team members.

The Facility Manager is responsible for the overall physical operations of the building by ensuring the facility is safe, up to code, and fully operational. The Facility Manager is also responsible for leading a small facilities team, managing contractor relationships and working with third-party vendors.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • The preventive & regular maintenance for all structures, grounds, building systems & equipment and the administrative and operational functions of the department.
  • Supervising the facility and maintenance team; leads the recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, development of team members.
  • Participating alongside the Facility team to execute on all department activities and responsibilities.
  • Developing and maintaining operational standards; working with stakeholders to review operational processes to ensure continuous quality improvement and a high service level.
  • Liaising with tradespeople to install, maintain & repair systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water conservation experience, etc. and approve such work upon completion.
  • Managing the fleet of power equipment and planning for maintenance, refurbishment, and replacement.
  • Liaising with the various departments to ensure their maintenance needs are met.
  • Ensuring the safety and upkeep of the grounds, including snow removal and lawn care.
  • Coordinating with the Director of Construction on the implementation of new building projects, and major alternations or upgrades.
  • Managing the Annual Repairs and Maintenance Budget and continuously looking for cost saving opportunities, enhanced efficiency, and value add opportunities.
  • The preparation, research and planning of major maintenance items such as parking lot maintenance and replacement and roofing replacement.
  • Serving as a point of contact for tenant related issues and requests.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • Ability to lead a small team and collaborate across other departments.
  • Knowledge and ability to supervise/conduct general maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, mechanical repair and electrical.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and power jack (training will be provided)
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and relationship-building skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills with a customer service orientation
  • Focused on positive customer experiences and delivering superior service to clients
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Flexible and willing to work extended hours as necessary and to respond at any time to facility related emergencies
Wage:
  • $55K-$60K/per year (DOQ)
