Staffmax Staffing and Recruiting is assisting our client who is experiencing major growth in the company event and tradeshow booth display category with a Business Development Executive.

Reason for hiring: growth, did not lay-off during covid

Pay and Benefits:

  • $70-85,000 base pay + higher with direct experience/competitor

New Sales Rep (little experience in our industry):

At $500K in sales they can earn a total compensation (base salary & commissions) of (approx.): $91K

At $2M in sales they can earn a total compensation (base salary & commissions) of (approx.): $162K

For a seasoned rep, they can look to make the following:

At $500K in sales they can earn a total compensation (base salary & commissions) of (approx.): $131K

At $2M in sales they can earn a total compensation (base salary & commissions) of (approx.): $202K


Location: Near Toronto Pearson Airport, this role is 100% in office for first 3-5 months, then optional 1-2 days a week WFH.

Must Haves to Succeed: Brand Management, or Marketing background strong asset

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to Senior Director of Creative Services
  • You will be responsible for the development of ground up new accounts.
  • Foster relationships throughout the sales cycle by being a leader and demonstrating the ability to develop a proposal framework for all opportunities that will increase the likelihood of the proposal successfully closing, from identification, discovery, nurture, opportunity origination, and relationship expansion.
  • Develop short-term and long-term retention and growth strategies for new and existing clients and deliver on those strategies to continually build a strong business pipeline.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional support teams to create sales strategy, goals, and forecasting. Assist with other sales activities/initiatives as instructed by leadership team.
  • Inspire trust and collaboration across the organization and externally that will create a foundation the sale’s growth and expansion. Lead by example, displaying a positive mindset, understanding the value of teamwork, and acting as a brand ambassador.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional support teams to create sales strategy, goals, and forecasting. Assist with other sales activities/initiatives as instructed by leadership team. Someone who recognizes the support that can be gained from our internal team and utilizes it to optimize their external client relationships.
  • Outbound sales experience required (minimum 4 years).
  • Experience with lead generation and prospect management.
  • Has proven the ability to successfully develop and manage their own account base in the profitable production of revenue opportunities totaling approximately $2 million or more.
Other information to succeed:
  • 8-4:30 PM flexible start/end
  • Internal sales force consists of 3 people, hiring for 2 in near future plus this role
  • 20-25 current employees
