Fly solo in Winnipeg as a Metal Fabrication CNC Mechanic Field Service Technician and embark on an exhilarating journey where you'll showcase your mechanical and electrical expertise, provide top-notch customer support, and unleash your problem-solving skills on cutting-edge equipment. As a vital member of our team, you'll directly report to the Department Manager in Ontario, taking charge of our client's on-site troubleshooting, repair, and at various customer facilities in Winnipeg and surrounding communities.

Your role will be diverse, challenging, and highly rewarding. You'll be the go-to expert, responsible for diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues with conveyors, pulleys, gears, hydraulic or pneumatic valves, and actuators, while also tackling electrical challenges involving PLCs, communication systems, servo motors, and controllers. Your knowledge of PC communications, including serial and parallel communication, Ethernet, and addressing systems, will be put to good use as you ensure seamless functionality.

To excel in this role, you'll provide exceptional customer training, making on-site modifications to equipment and delivering clear, detailed reports documenting your work. Frequent travel to clients in the Winnipeg and surrounding communities will be part of your exciting journey. A valid driver's license, a clear motor vehicle record, and the ability to obtain rental vehicles without restrictions are essential.

Full training will be held in the USA so a passport is critical.

Wage and Perks: 

  • $70-85,000 year
  • Pension you contribute 2% they will match 5% up to $1500
  • Full Health and Dental paid by the company
  • Tools, uniform, cell, laptop, flights, gas, and company car all paid for 
  • Hours 8-5 pm paid 50 hours/week
  • Occasional emergency calls 
  • Hotel and weekend out-of-town perdium pay (details available at 1st interview)
  • Travel/road time paid

Requirements:

  •  2-year degree in mechanical or electrical technology or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. without restrictions
  • Climbing steps and ladders and working in tight access areas may be required

Advanced knowledge in the following areas is expected:

  • Mechanical devices: conveyors, pulleys, gears, hydraulic or pneumatic valves, and actuators
  • Electrical devices: servo motors, controllers, relays, breakers, troubleshooting
  • PC communications: serial and parallel communication, Ethernet, static/dynamic addressing
  • Strong mathematical skills, including algebra and trigonometry
  • Fluent use of PCs for development and communications
  • Ability to recognize and evaluate technical issues and limitations
  • Ability to define and manage expectations and make sound decisions and actions
  • Competency with digital multimeters and reading electrical schematics
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use common hand tools and read mechanical drawings
