Staffmax is hiring on behalf of our client in Richmond, BC for a temporary CNC Machine Operator / Warehouse Associate role. The assignment is expected to last approximately 2–6 weeks, depending on the employee’s return date.
Location: Richmond, BC
Term: Temporary (2–6 weeks)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Wage: $25/hour
Role overview-
This role involves operating a fully automatic CNC saw designed to cut aluminum extrusions, performing quality control checks, and supporting general warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in material handling, machinery operation, and maintaining safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities-
• Operate a fully automatic CNC saw used for cutting aluminum extrusions
• Package orders safely and securely according to company standards and customer requirements
• Transfer packaged orders to staging areas for shipment
• Assist with shipping, receiving, loading/unloading trucks, order picking, and packing
• Complete and process shipping documentation as required
• Perform quality control checks and ensure adherence to protocols
• Support warehouse housekeeping and basic equipment maintenance tasks
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
Skills and qualifications-
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 3–5 years of material handling experience, preferably in metal processing or distribution
• Experience operating CNC machinery and vertical reach trucks
• Ability to perform manual order picking and lift/move items up to 50 lbs
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, and mainframe systems
• Good mathematical aptitude and precision measuring skills
• High attention to detail and strong quality control awareness
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and regulations
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
