Staffmax is looking for a Chef De Cuisine for one of their clients in Toronto.

Salary: $56,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year

Job Description:
Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Chef de Cuisine will be responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen, leading, and creating a team environment, delivering consistent quality dishes to ensure our guests' experience is exceptional. Additional responsibilities will also include reporting costing and budget for all food, labor and maintaining accurate inventory.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Maintain food quality and consistency with a keen eye for detail in regard to food presentation
- Create dishes to perfection according to menu specifications
- Map out and set standards for kitchen organization that align with the venues directive
- Work with the Executive Chef on menu development and food procurement
- Manage the process for ordering product and inspecting deliveries to ensure quality
- Attend meetings when required and communicate to all staff the policies and practices as they align with business practices
- Train and enforce food preparation quality, food safety and safety standards and for all staff
- Maintain an impeccable kitchen
- Recruit and maintain staff par levels and schedule accordingly based on business needs
Qualification:
- 3-5 years experience in a similar role at a from-scratch kitchen
- Demonstrated awareness of and interest in current culinary trends in the marketplace
- Operations management experience in a high volume establishment
- Ability to multi-task, remain calm and keep up in a fast paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication experience, both verbal & written Excellent organizational skills, with timely delivery of all required administrative work
- Flexible to work evenings and weekends and holidays
