Class 1 Flat Deck Driver – Canada-Wide Routes

We are currently hiring experienced Class 1 Flat Deck Drivers for permanent, full-time opportunities operating throughout Canada. This position is ideal for drivers who are comfortable being on the road for extended periods and have hands-on experience securing and transporting flat-deck freight.

Compensation

Approximately $90,000 annually, depending on mileage and hours worked
$0.59 per mile while driving
$26.27 per hour for on-duty, non-driving work
Permanent, ongoing position

Schedule

Drivers are typically on the road for 7–10 days at a time
Routes vary and operate throughout Canada

Responsibilities

Complete flat-deck freight pickups and deliveries safely and efficiently
Secure freight using tarps, straps, chains and other required equipment
Hook and unhook trailers, including operating landing gear
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and load checks
Complete shipping documents and required driver paperwork
Maintain accurate hours-of-service logs
Report vehicle defects, incidents and traffic violations
Provide professional and friendly service to customers
Follow all transportation and workplace safety procedures

Requirements

Valid Class 1 or AZ driver’s licence
Minimum one year of flat-deck driving experience
Clean driver’s abstract in good standing
Must own and maintain a late-model tractor that meets company requirements
Comfortable with tarping, chaining and strapping freight
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Willing and able to travel throughout Canada
Strong communication and customer-service skills

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
Ability to push or pull up to 100 lbs
Comfortable climbing into a truck cab or trailer several times per day
Able to perform regular tarping, chaining and load-securement duties
