Staffmax is looking for Classification Specialists to fill various government contracts in Ottawa. The objective of this process is to create a pool of qualified candidates to accommodate future needs. WHERE: Ottawa, ON

WAGE: $32 - $45/hr (depending on level of experience)

MUST HAVE: Reliability Security Clearance (or be willing to get one)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing job evaluation and classification services for both unionized and not-represented positions within designated client portfolios and as part of an integrated human resources team
  • Provide specialized consultations and advice to various stakeholders throughout the organization, including managers and senior leaders
  • Conduct organization analysis and external benchmarking reviews to ensure current and future administration needs are met.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 1 year experience; 5+ years preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience in the application of the Hay Plan and organization design/analysis theory, practice and principles
  • Experience in participating in, and advising classification committees
  • Experience leading and participating in projects
  • Ability to do research on a variety of subject matters using a wide spectrum of information sources
  • Ability to analyze & synthesize data to prepare reports
  • Experience writing high level communications and reports to senior management
  • Experience using automated systems
  • Experience in participating in the development and organization of internal operational systems to ensure continuity, integrity, and uniformity of classification, as well as to develop and implement new procedures and techniques for service delivery
  • Intermediate use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Bilingual (English & French) preferred

EDUCATION:

  • University degree in a related field
  • Must be a subject matter expert on classification policies, tools, standards, processes, and procedures

  • English Oral & Written skills
  • French Oral & Written skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite such as: Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
