Cook
Our client, an independent living retirement home in Winnipeg, is seeking a skilled Cook who takes pride in preparing and serving high-quality meals. In this role, you’ll support the Culinary Director in overseeing kitchen operations, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and ensuring strict adherence to food safety standards.
The ideal candidate has strong culinary skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen. You will ensure consistency in meal preparation, deliver excellent food presentation, and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
What You’ll Do

Prepare and cook meals following recipes and menu standards

Ensure plating and presentation meet quality expectations

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen

Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies

Support and mentor kitchen staff as needed

Assist with catering and special events

Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace regulations
What We’re Looking For

2–5 years of cooking experience in professional kitchens

High school diploma or equivalent (culinary training is an asset)

Safe Food Handling Certificate

Knowledge of kitchen equipment and food prep techniques

Clear vulnerable sector criminal record check

First Aid/CPR certification is a plus

Strong multitasking, teamwork, and time-management skills

Ability to work efficiently under pressure
Compensation: $19 -$21/hr (based on experience)
