What you will be doing

  • You will serve as a trusted advisor to internal teams, providing legal direction across diverse projects and transactions
  • Manage and review commercial and industrial leases, land acquisitions, property sales, and development contracts
  • Design and implement compliance and risk mitigation strategies to support long-term business goals
  • Provide support and guidance on corporate governance and financing matters
  • Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of legal agreements and complex contracts
  • Coordinate with banks and financial institutions to ensure seamless closing of real estate transactions
  • Ensure all activities comply with applicable municipal, provincial, and federal regulations
  • Maintain accurate corporate records, filings, and legal documentation
  • Support workplace policies and employment law compliance, offering legal guidance where needed
  • Act as lead counsel in litigation matters and contribute to effective case preparation and resolution

What we are looking for

  • A Bachelor of Law or Juris Doctor degree, LL.B, J.D., with active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Manitoba
  • A minimum of three years of experience practicing commercial real estate law, ideally within a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing contracts, negotiating terms, and providing strategic legal advice
  • Experience with real estate transactions, leasing, and property acquisitions
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly and concisely
  • A collaborative approach and strong problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced business environment
