Job description

Staffmax is looking for an experienced customer service representative to join our client's team! They are a building supplies company with over 100 years of service in the Winnipeg and North American markets.

The role of Customer Service Representative entails direct interaction with customers, both in-person and through phone communications, to address their needs regarding a diverse range of metal building products offered. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, including accurate pricing and order input using our manufacturing software. As a valued member of the sales team, the incumbent will embody the brand's values and ensure positive customer experiences.


  • $60-65,000
  • Health and dental $2000 spending allowance
  • 8-4:30 pm Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promptly respond to customer inquiries, orders, and requests via phone and email.
  • Promote supplementary products that enhance our existing manufacturing line.
  • Identify potential avenues for future sales opportunities.
  • Efficiently and precisely enter orders into the designated system.
  • Communicate essential information to the operations team.
  • Handle credits and returns promptly and accurately.
  • Professionally resolve issues by clarifying concerns, researching solutions, implementing alternatives, and escalating unresolved matters as needed.
  • Coordinate shipping logistics for customers.
  • Offer pricing information and assist customers in selecting products that align with their design prerequisites.
  • Document all completed price inquiries and follow up within specified timelines.

Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of high school or equivalent is mandatory.
  • 5+ years' experience within the building products sector.
  • Familiarity with metal roofing, flashing, aluminum rainware, and vinyl siding is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated capacity to anticipate customer requirements.
  • Comfort with initiating outbound calls to existing customers.
  • Quick acquisition of technical details specific to CSM products and accessories.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with excellent typing and computer skills.
  • Exceptional English communication skills, capable of driving sales through phone interactions.
  • Proficient abstract reasoning and the ability to comprehend 3D drawings.
  • Experience in estimating and takeoff from blueprints would be beneficial.
