Staffmax is currently assisting our client in Toronto, ON, to fill 12-15 Data Operator positions. The positions are set to start in March 2024, with interviews taking place in mid-January 2024. We are seeking talented individuals to fill the role of Data Operations Specialist in our Toronto office. As a Data Operations Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless flow of business-critical data, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Position Overview: As a Data Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health of our data processing systems, ensuring accuracy, and providing crucial support to various teams. This is a dynamic role that involves shift work to cover 24/7/365 data processing activities, with potential future opportunities to contribute to development and testing tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor server health before, during, and after processing times.
• Review logs and notifications to ensure proper data handling.
• Conduct "start of day" and "end of day" checks on all data feeds.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to verify data accuracy and desired outcomes.
• Perform post-processing analysis to ensure high-quality data for analytics.
• Report and collaborate with technical teams to enhance data processing systems.
• Assist development and data teams in testing and software development.
• Provide support to other teams as needed.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Troubleshooting skills for basic computer issues (network connectivity, processes, memory usage).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal staff and vendors.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Problem-solving abilities, with a knack for timely issue resolution.
• Team player mindset.

Nice to Have:

• Understanding of SQL statements.
• Familiarity with Git and/or Mercurial for code management.
• Exposure to the Atlassian suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence).
• Coding skills in VB/C# .NET, Powershell, VB Script, and Python.
• Experience with web interfaces (HTML, CSS, Javascript).
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and testing principles.

Location: Toronto, ON

Wage: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Term: Permanent role

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Sunday – rotation
• Hours: 24/7, with workers scheduled for 30-35 hours per week.
• In-office work.
