JOB FUNCTION: Assist with overall warehouse operations, deliveries, assembly and installations of office furniture.

HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, with occasional OT and weekends, subject to customer demands, start and finish times may vary on occasion

  • temporary position to start with plan to hire on as permanent full time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Loading/unloading product from trucks; assist delivery/install at customers.
  • Assemble, clean, install and repair office furniture and screen systems.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize a variety of hand/power tools as needed (cordless drill, etc..)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Basic knowledge of various office furniture assemblies and various office systems an asset
  • Proper lifting techniques.
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
  • Physically fit.

Ability to:

  • Be attentive to detail, read and follow installation instructions.
  • Participate in daily warehouse operations, deliveries and installations
  • Have a strong mechanical and problem solving aptitude.
  • Use and be familiar with basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Maintain professional and courteous customer service
  • Meet schedules and time lines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work is performed while standing sitting and or walking.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull weights up to 75

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D Certificate
  • Past furniture assembly, delivery and warehouse experience would be beneficial.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 or higher driver’s license required.
  • Dress code is casual, such as blue jeans and a clean plain t-shirt or golf shirt, attire must be presentable and clean at all times.
  • Steel toed boots/shoes required
  • Clear Criminal Record Check Required

 

Wage: $14-$15 per hour
