Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with some overtime as required
Pay Rate: $23.55–$43.17 per hour, depending on experience, training, and certifications
Expected Hours: 40–50 hours per week
Job Summary
Staffmax is currently looking for a responsible, safety-conscious, and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our client’s team in Winnipeg, MB.
The successful candidate will perform maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet of construction equipment, heavy-duty trucks, and trailers. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated mechanic who enjoys working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities

Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on construction equipment, heavy-duty trucks, and trailers.

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, suspension systems, brake systems, and air systems.

Follow established vehicle and equipment maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance plans.

Complete repairs and maintenance work efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Clean, lubricate, inspect, and service vehicles, equipment, attachments, and working tools.

Provide training, guidance, and hands-on support to apprentices performing maintenance and repair work.

Monitor and manage shop inventory to ensure required parts, supplies, and consumables are available.

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to source and order parts and materials.

Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.

Keep the shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe.

Follow all company policies, workplace safety procedures, and applicable regulations.

Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience repairing construction equipment, diesel trucks, and trailers.

Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.

Red Seal Certification is preferred but not required.

Previous experience working with heavy-duty construction equipment is strongly preferred.

Welding experience is considered an asset but is not required.

Valid driver’s licence is required.

Must have a personal set of mechanic tools.

Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently.
