Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on trucks and trailers
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using advanced testing equipment
- Repair engines, transmissions, differentials, fuel systems, turbochargers, brakes, steering, and suspension systems
- Complete warranty-related repairs and documentation
- Conduct road tests when required
- Operate shop tools, hoists, welding equipment, and diagnostic systems safely
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Complete repairs efficiently with minimal supervision
- Support additional shop projects as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of practical tractor-trailer maintenance experience
- Valid Red Seal or applicable provincial trade certification
- Valid Class 3 or Class D licence with air brake endorsement (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills on major components
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, welding, and computerized diagnostics
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Willingness to travel locally for service calls or training when needed
Physical Requirements
- Regular lifting up to 12 kg
- Frequent lifting up to 23 kg
- Occasional lifting up to 45 kg
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work with tools throughout the shift
