Staffmax Staffing and Recruiting is currently seeking a Roadside Mobile Truck Technician / Mechanic (Field Service) for our client in Laval
For this position, candidates must be SAAQ certified or eligible.
We are currently looking for an experienced and self-driven Mobile Truck Technician to perform on-site maintenance and repairs around Laval. This role offers the opportunity to work independently while delivering high-quality service directly to customers in the field.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and equipment in a mobile environment
- Complete preventive maintenance services to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel and gas engines, transmissions, clutches, PTO systems, and driveline components
- Service brake systems (including ABS), suspension (spring and air), steering, and HVAC systems
- Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems including starters, alternators, sensors, ECMs, and ECUs
- Repair engine components such as turbochargers, injectors, and cooling systems
- Conduct inspections and road tests to confirm proper operation and safety
- Prepare new equipment for delivery and recondition trade-in units
- Identify parts requirements, manage inventory, and complete accurate service documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant mobile work environment
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers during service calls
- Follow all company safety policies and provincial/federal regulations
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trucks or transport equipment
- DEP in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (or equivalent) preferred
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently in a field service environment
- Comfortable using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and shop equipment
- Basic computer skills for service reporting and maintenance systems
Licensing & Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required
- SAAQ certification (PEP or equivalent) required or ability to obtain
- Class 3 or Class 1 license (asset) or willingness to obtain
- Air brake (Z endorsement / F endorsement equivalent in Quebec) is considered an asset
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid medical certificate for driving duties
- Comfortable operating medium-duty vehicles (up to 26,000 lbs / 11,793 kg)
- Ability to navigate using GPS and mobile applications
- Must pass background verification and pre-employment screening
Work Environment
This is a fully mobile role requiring travel to customer sites across Laval and working in various weather and site conditions.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing
- Regular lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and occasional lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- Working safely at heights when required
- Exposure to outdoor conditions year-round
- Working around heavy equipment and moving vehicles
