Job description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in electrical systems, PLCs, and industrial equipment who is looking to grow in a dynamic work environment.
Location & Compensation:
- Location: Sherwin Rd, Winnipeg
- Pay Rate: $30/hour
- Schedule: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM (initial one-month training on day shift, then transition to evening shift)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, including inspection, cleaning, and repair of equipment
- Start up and shut down equipment following established operational and safety procedures
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot electrical machinery and systems
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical fixtures, wiring, panels, and breakers
- Work with PLC systems, including basic programming and troubleshooting
- Interpret manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings to complete maintenance tasks
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures and electrical codes
- Collaborate with operators and team members to resolve equipment issues
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Manitoba Licensed Electrician (required)
- 2–4 years of relevant electrical maintenance experience
- Knowledge of PLCs, industrial controls, and power distribution systems
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, safety procedures, and compliance standards
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
