Staffmax is seeking a Red Seal Journeyman/woman Electrician with 2+ years of experience in Commercial Construction or Commercial Service.
Please ensure you have experience with Switchgears, controls, sensors and troubleshooting. This role is inside a DATA CENTRE.
- $75-80,000 ($36-38 hr)
- Up to 10% bonus each year

SHIFTS:
The shifts are a 40-hour averaging over 4 weeks.
Week 1 Mon to Fri days 5:30 am to 1 pm
Week 2 Mon to Fri days 7 am to 3 pm
Week 3 Mon, Tues, Wed 1 pm to 10 pm Thur & Fri off Sat 6 am to 6pm
Week 4 Sun 6am to 6pm off Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur & Fri 12:30 pm to 10 pm
Data Center is a ~65,000 sq ft facility that serves the entire company and is operational 24/7.
Overview: Oversee the correct installation and upkeep of all electrical systems, adhering to the Canadian Electrical Code and WPS&H standards. The building's operational and electrical infrastructure is essential for ensuring continuous functionality, necessitating regular preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and comprehensive documentation of all activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and document network and power cabling, ensuring accurate connection and location logging.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, including VFDs, pumps, motors, and fans, addressing both scheduled and emergency needs.
- Maintain and service UPS battery systems for IT rooms and critical equipment.
- Oversee the upkeep of electrical switchgear.
- Test, operate, and arrange servicing for emergency generators, keeping detailed maintenance records.
- Perform mandatory life safety system testing.
- Replace or repair electric motors, perform load calculations, and take amp readings.
- Install, repair, or replace lighting fixtures and lamps within the office premises, and manage the lighting control system.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient completion of moves, additions, and changes.
- Ensure all electrical infrastructure meets code requirements.
- Partner with the Operations team to monitor and maintain the Building Management System (BMS).
- Address critical and urgent electrical issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a Journeyman Electrician License (type HC).
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in similar roles.
- Proven experience in maintaining UPS and emergency power systems.
- Post-secondary education from a recognized technical institution.
- Knowledge of Angus Anywhere and building automation systems.
- Ability to operate and program BAS software is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
