This is 3 months contract position, full-time with the possibility of turning into a permanent position for the right candidate.

 

Location: Toronto, ON

Compensation: $21-24/hr

Hours of Work: 8:30 to 5:00pm

Monday through Friday (37.5 hours per week)

 

The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for performing routine maintenance. This position requires excellent building maintenance skills as well as some office skills.

 

Responsibilities:

? Assist the Director in the management of the physical plant and equipment

? Maintain the appearance and operation of the buildings at optimal levels

? Regular inspections of the buildings, grounds, and equipment, noting repair and replacement needs and ensuring equipment is clean and well maintained

? Perform monthly health & safety inspections (interior and exterior), ensure compliance with safety requirements and participate in safety training as required

? Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in a timely manner (minor

electrical, plumbing and mechanical repairs)

? Respond promptly and courteously to facility service requirements (office moves, room set-ups, events services, etc.)

? Janitorial duties including snow removal (at entrances), de-icing, spill cleanup, etc.as required.

? Organize and update documents on the server for the Facilities Department.

? Maintain the facilities supplies inventory

? Respond to building emergencies and security

? Communicate deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancements/repair

 

Required Qualifications:

? Certificate or diploma in facilities maintenance or equivalent.

? 2+ years’ in building maintenance or related trade

? Strong knowledge of the building and fire codes, health and safety regulations and building mechanical/electrical/security systems

? Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with employees, contractors and service providers

? Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities with competing priorities

? Ability to climb stairs, use ladders, lift or carry items of varying and substantial weight as required

? Must have a valid driver’s license

? Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

? Ability to use common power tools

? Ability to work with minimal supervision

? Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)

 

Assets:

? Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

? Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets

? Joint Health and Safety Certified
