Staffmax is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician for their client in Ontario.
Valid driver license and a clean driving record is a must.
Preferred location: Vaughan, Mississauga, Oakville, Niagara, London
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for installing, re-locating, repairing, and
maintaining digital Photo Enforcement solutions for municipal Public Safety programs. The
technician must ensure equipment maintains strict standards related to up-time and
performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of enforcement systems on a daily basis to ensure proper functionality, overseeing various aspects such as timely downloads, battery health, and overall image quality and performance.
- Conduct video surveys as needed for potential business growth.
- Track and record the punctual execution of preventive maintenance activities, collaborating with field supervisors to modify procedures in line with evolving technological requirements.
- Offer assistance in installing new approach setups at construction sites or relocating mobile systems.
- Fulfill any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Work Setting:
- Field technicians will frequently encounter varying outdoor weather conditions throughout the year, including wet or humid atmospheres, cold or hot weather, as well as dusty and noisy work settings.
- Noise levels usually range from moderate to moderately loud.
- Technicians routinely operate in proximity to moving traffic, occasionally working at night with limited visibility.
- Some weekends and overtime may be necessary.
- Tasks may involve working at elevated heights using a ladder.
- Field Technicians must have the ability to use your hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit. Frequent ladder use is required with the ability to climb, descend, balance and work safely at heights on ladders for long periods at time.
- Field Technicians will regularly lift and/or maneuver awkward equipment up to 75 pounds from vehicle and ground, regularly lift and handle awkward equipment up to 25 pounds up and down a ladder and occasionally carry and handle equipment 45 pounds up and down a ladder.
- Field employees may be asked to wear protective equipment while in the field which can include reflective gear, work boots, safety glasses, and hard hats. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Field technicians often work independently and need a strong understanding of both personal and construction safety protocols, particularly in traffic work zone projects.
Qualifications:
- The position requires an Associates Degree or relevant Technical Institute certificate or equivalent in a technical field (engineering or computer science) or related work experience.
- Experience in digital photography, network installation and computer technology is required.
- Ability to work outside with minimal supervision required.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), strong multi-tasking, and effective organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver license, clean driving record, and some travel required.
