The Field Service Technician will be responsible for installing, re-locating, repairing, and maintaining digital Photo Enforcement solutions for municipal Public Safety programs. The technician must ensure equipment maintains strict standards related to up-time and performance. Field Service Technicians are also responsible for troubleshooting issues and responding to time-sensitive requests. Technicians must be able to work independently or at the direction of a supervisor to identify and resolve system performance issues related to equipment/radar/camera configurations, vandalism, environmental factors, equipment deficiencies, or other factors.
Location: Bowes Rd, Concord each day. Pay Rate: $27 per hour + $50 per month for personal cell phone / internet reimbursement Start Date: ASAP Essential Responsibilities: • Perform daily checks of enforcement systems to confirm operations and monitor all systems; including but not limited to timely downloads; battery health; and overall image quality and performance. • Perform video survey as required for new business development. • Monitor and document the timely completion of preventative maintenance actions, work with field supervisors to adapt procedures to match equipment demands as technology evolves. • Provide installation support for new approach builds on construction sites or the relocation of mobile systems. • Perform any other relevant duties and/or responsibilities assigned Work Environment: A field technician will be regularly exposed to outside weather conditions year-round, such as wet and/or humid environments, cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments. Noise levels will typically be moderate to moderately loud. Technicians regularly work near moving traffic and occasional night work with reduced visibility. Some weekend and overtime work may be required. Working at heights from a ladder may be required. Field technicians frequently work alone and must have knowledge of personal and construction safety practices on traffic work zone projects. Qualifications: • The position requires an associate’s degree or relevant Technical Institute certificate or equivalent in a technical field (engineering or computer science) or related work experience. • Experience in digital photography, network installation and computer technology is required. • Ability to work outside with minimal supervision required. • Excellent communication (written and verbal), strong multi-tasking, and effective organizational skills. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. • Valid driver license, clean driving record, and some travel required. Environmental and Physical Requirements • The following physical demands are representative of what a field technician may encounter in the field and are essential functions of the position. • You will be involved primarily with field work on roadside sites involving long-term standing and perhaps repetitive motions. • You must have the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time and to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. • Field Technicians must have the ability to use your hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit. • Frequent ladder use is required with the ability to climb, descend, balance and work safely at heights on ladders for long periods at time. • Field Technicians must have the ability to see including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. • Field Technicians must not have any limitations that would reduce their ability to drive a vehicle safely to job sites. • Field Technicians will regularly lift and/or maneuver awkward equipment up to 75 pounds from vehicle and ground, regularly lift and handle awkward equipment up to 25 pounds up and down a ladder and occasionally carry and handle equipment 45 pounds up and down a ladder. • Field employees may be asked to wear protective equipment while in the field which can include reflective gear, work boots, safety glasses, and hard hats. • The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. |
