As our Finance Director, you’ll do more than balance books — you’ll be part of a passionate leadership team working together to deliver essential community services. You’ll bring your expertise, insight, and care to ensure our organization remains financially strong, transparent, and ready to grow.

  • $80-85,000 temp to potential hire
  • Permanent $90,000 or higher
  • 8:30-4:30 Monday- Friday (1x week WFH)
  • 350 employees, 4 reports on the finance team
  • Term length, 3-4 months with potential of extension and/or hire

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the agency’s budgeting process, engaging with managers to plan, analyze, and monitor financial performance.
  • Prepare and present consolidated budgets and monthly financial statements that help guide strategic decisions.
  • Manage accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general accounting in alignment with GAAP standards.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting staff, fostering collaboration, accuracy, and professional growth.
  • Oversee funding reports, audits, and financial submissions to ensure compliance with all regulatory and funder requirements.
  • Review, recommend, and implement financial policies to strengthen internal controls and transparency.
  • Coordinate the annual audit process and ensure timely completion of auditor recommendations.
  • Oversee payroll administration and act as the agency’s representative in matters of payroll policy, compliance, and reporting.
  • Conduct annual insurance and risk management reviews, ensuring the organization remains well-protected and cost-efficient.
  • Build strong working relationships across departments and with external partners, funders, and government representatives.
What You Bring
  • A BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field and CPA designation (required).
  • Minimum 5 years of senior-level accounting/payroll experience, ideally within a non-profit environment.
  • Proven ability to manage financial control, analysis, investment, and budgeting with accuracy and insight.
  • Experience leading teams and creating an environment of trust, collaboration, and mutual respect.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with a talent for engaging others in financial stewardship.
  • A proactive mindset — you identify opportunities, solve problems, and take initiative.
  • Proficiency with financial systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft applications.
