Salary: $41,600 to $54,000 ( Depending on experience)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a Finance Manager who will provide payroll and accounting functions in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. The Finance Manager, under the direction of the Director of Finance, will be responsible for overseeing and implementing all financial support and office services for the Agency. This role will coordinate and communicate office activities including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, coordination of tax receipting, expense reporting, and various other administrative functions.

  • Manage payroll function which includes payroll processing, benefits administration, maintaining personnel records, required remittances, and year end procedures including T4 and T4As.
  • Manage accounts payable function for the Agency which includes AP payments, responding to vendors and other ad hoc AP enquiries, including follow up on discrepancies and errors in a timely manner
  • Full purchasing cycle tasks (coordinating invoices, approvals, & credit card reconciliation)
  • Responsible for data entry of payables, receivables, online payments, payroll journals, and bank deposit allocations
  • Maintain records for various types of donations and prepare charitable tax receipts • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Support the Director of Finance in providing information to government, funders, and management
  • Provide financial support to departments and management as needed

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • 1-3 years of accounting and payroll experience

•Post-secondary qualification in a related field including accounting or finance courses. Equivalent experience will be considered

  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to connect with variety of internal and external contacts
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Excellent at meeting deadlines and managing workload
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to respond to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Service orientated with a genuine desire and commitment to help your colleagues and willing to take initiative on tasks and assignments
  • Strong foundation understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and knowledge and application of Canadian Accounting Standards for Not-for-profit Organizations
  • Knowledge of computerized payroll/accounting systems (preferably Payworks and SAGE)
  • Be able to provide clear criminal record and child abuse registry checks obtained within the past 6 months.
