Staffmax Staffing & Recruiting is assisting one of Canada's industry leaders to hire an experienced HVAC Technician for their Thunder Bay, ON area location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install air conditioning, heating, and related equipment and components
- Overhaul and service air conditioning, heating units and systems
- Repair, replace and adjust worn or broken parts on condensers, compressors, and water and vacuum pumps
- Repair and adjust valves, piping connections, fittings, and couplings
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with heating and air conditioning units and systems
- Install motors, thermostats, and humidistats
- Interpret and enforce safety regulations
Education and Experience
- Red Seal/Journeyperson ticket and/or Diploma from a certified college
- Gas Fitter B license or working towards it
- Minimum 3rd level HVAC or Sheet Metal/Refrigeration Apprentice
- An understanding of local gas codes, best practices of heating, air-conditioning and boiler installation are an asset
- 3-5 years experience in residential service
- A valid drivers’ license and current driving abstract
- Own standard tools, specialty tools will be provided
- Knowledge of applicable HVAC codes, standards, and regulations
- Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade
- Skill in both verbal and written communication
