Schedule: Monday to Friday (Approximately 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Pay: Competitive – Based on Experience

Staffmax is hiring a Temporary Health & Safety Coordinator for one of our clients in Winnipeg.

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to provide temporary coverage for approximately 2–3 months. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who is nearing retirement, recently retired, or looking for a short-term contract opportunity. The successful candidate will support the company's health and safety initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable workplace legislation and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support workplace health and safety programs and initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with provincial health and safety legislation and company policies.

  • Conduct workplace inspections and identify potential hazards.

  • Assist with incident investigations and prepare reports with corrective action recommendations.

  • Maintain health and safety records, documentation, and training logs.

  • Coordinate employee safety training and orientation sessions.

  • Participate in safety meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Work closely with management and employees to promote a strong safety culture.

  • Assist with policy updates and other health and safety projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Health & Safety Coordinator or in a similar occupational health and safety role.

  • Strong knowledge of Manitoba workplace health and safety legislation.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience conducting workplace inspections, incident investigations, and maintaining safety documentation.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Professional health and safety designation (CRSP, NCSO, or equivalent) is considered an asset.
