Location: Clarence Avenue, Winnipeg, MB
Duration: 2–3 Month Contract (Temporary)
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Approximately 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Pay: Competitive – Based on Experience

Staffmax is hiring a Temporary Health & Safety Coordinator for one of our clients in Winnipeg.
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to provide temporary coverage for approximately 2–3 months. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who is nearing retirement, recently retired, or looking for a short-term contract opportunity. The successful candidate will support the company's health and safety initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable workplace legislation and company policies.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and support workplace health and safety programs and initiatives.

Ensure compliance with provincial health and safety legislation and company policies.

Conduct workplace inspections and identify potential hazards.

Assist with incident investigations and prepare reports with corrective action recommendations.

Maintain health and safety records, documentation, and training logs.

Coordinate employee safety training and orientation sessions.

Participate in safety meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Work closely with management and employees to promote a strong safety culture.

Assist with policy updates and other health and safety projects as required.
Qualifications

Previous experience as a Health & Safety Coordinator or in a similar occupational health and safety role.

Strong knowledge of Manitoba workplace health and safety legislation.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Experience conducting workplace inspections, incident investigations, and maintaining safety documentation.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Professional health and safety designation (CRSP, NCSO, or equivalent) is considered an asset.
