Heavy Equipment Operator

Salary: $22.00-$30.00 per hour

Hours of Work: 50-60 hours per week

Location: Headingley, MB

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join a growing civil infrastructure and construction team working on municipal and commercial projects throughout Manitoba.

Responsibilities

Heavy Equipment Operator duties include, but are not limited to:

• Operate various types of heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, and dozers.

• Transport heavy equipment to and from job sites.

• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.

• Maintain accurate equipment usage and maintenance records.

• Assist with general construction and site-related tasks as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.

• Experience with GPS/Machine Control systems is considered an asset.

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a construction environment.

• Road construction experience is preferred.

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

• Class 1 or Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake endorsement is considered an asset.

• Ability to work extended hours (10-12 hours per day) in all weather conditions.

• Willingness to travel occasionally.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design drawings, and construction plans.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to report job site conditions and activities effectively.
