About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to support our HR team in creating a positive and efficient workplace. This role will provide essential HR support, including recruitment, onboarding, policy development, training, and compliance. You will also maintain accurate personnel records, assist with communications, and contribute to key HR initiatives that enhance employee experience and organizational success.
  • Pay: $55,000 per year/ $26 hour
  • Term: 4-8 weeks strong potential to go permanent
  • Preference to be Indigenous
  • Vehicle a must, travelling to Headingly and downtown alternating days – Mileage paid
  • In-office role, if you prefer they are open to 4 day workweek
  • 8:30-4:30 PM daily Monday - Friday

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the HR Manager across all HR functions.
  • Maintain and update employee records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including job postings, interview coordination, and candidate communication.
  • Support onboarding and training programs to help new hires integrate successfully.
  • Prepare and distribute HR communications, policies, and procedural updates.
  • Respond to employee and management inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and workplace culture improvement.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for HR documentation.
  • Generate reports and assist with research related to HR projects and workforce planning.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for HR-related meetings and events.
  • Handle general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and correspondence.
Must Haves to Succeed:
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
  • CHRP designation or working towards certification is an asset.
  • Previous experience in an HR support role in Canada 2 years.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic work environment.
