Under the Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) Regional Master Standing Offer (RMSO) for Temporary Help Services, the Canadian Forces College Information Resource Centre (IRC) is seeking one (1) Librarian (INF-LS Level 2) with a reliability security clearance: full-time, 5 days per week.? The proposed start date is Tuesday, January 4, 2022 with an end date of Friday, April 8, 2022. However, the firm start date will be dependent on the receipt of a signed reliability security clearance.?

The Canadian Forces College Information Centre is a specialized library supporting both residential and distance learning strategic studies, national security studies and military studies courses.

 

The details of the requirement are below.

 

Location

Canadian Forces College, 215 Yonge Blvd, Toronto, ON M5M 3H9

(North Toronto – Located at the northeast corner of Yonge Blvd and Wilson Avenue)

Some remote work is a possibility.

 

Hours of Work

8 am – 4 pm Monday through Friday with two 15 min breaks and one 30 min break for lunch.

 

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

 

1. Education

Master of Library or Information Science from an American Library Association accredited programme.

 

2. Experience

Six (6) months experience in the previous twenty-four (24) months in:

  1. Applying metadata standards for the cataloguing of electronic resources including e-books using the SIRSIDYNIX SYMPHONY or Horizon or ExLibris integrated library system in a college, university or special library;

Duties

  1. Catalogue print and electronic as well as other resources in the?SIRSIDYNIX SYMPHONY integrated library system; and
  2. Develop and document instructional material and information guides including web-based tools for access and discovery of virtual library resources.
