INDUSTRIAL MILLWRIGHT | 4-MONTH CONTRACT

Pay: $40–$47/hour + overtime
Expected Hours: Approximately 55–60 hours per week
Staffmax Staffing & Recruiting is hiring 2–3 experienced Industrial Millwrights on behalf of our client for a major equipment installation project in Abbotsford, BC.
This is a four-month contract involving the installation and setup of a new extrusion production line for a European equipment manufacturer. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced millwrights with strong mechanical installation, equipment alignment, rigging, and commissioning experience.
Candidates do not need to live in British Columbia. Travel, accommodation, per diem, and local transportation will be provided for qualified travelling workers.
PAY & TRAVEL
Local Candidates:
• Up to $47/hour
• Overtime paid in addition to the regular hourly rate
Travelling Candidates:
• Up to $40/hour
• Overtime paid in addition to the regular hourly rate
• Flights or travel expenses covered
• Accommodation provided
• Daily per diem
• Local transportation provided in Abbotsford
• Travel home every four weeks
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Install and assemble industrial machinery and production equipment.
• Assist with the installation of a new extrusion production line.
• Set, level, anchor, and precisely align machinery.
• Install conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and other mechanical components.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment layouts.
• Perform precision alignment using dial indicators, laser alignment systems, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
• Assist with rigging, lifting, and machinery movement.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Support equipment testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Complete daily safety checks and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• Work closely with site supervisors, customers, and other trades.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 5 years of industrial millwright or mechanical experience.
• Experience installing industrial machinery or production equipment.
• Strong equipment setting, levelling, and alignment skills.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and equipment layouts.
• Experience with rigging and material-handling equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Comfortable working approximately 55–60 hours per week, including overtime and weekends when required.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, reliability, and quality workmanship.
• Availability for the full four-month project.
ASSETS
• Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification.
• Provincial millwright certification, including Ontario 433A.
• Previous extrusion-line installation experience.
• Welding or fabrication experience.
• Experience in plastics, packaging, automotive, food and beverage, steel, or other manufacturing environments.
• Forklift, aerial lift, Working at Heights, WHMIS, or First Aid certification.
• Previous shutdown, commissioning, or large-scale equipment installation experience.
