Staffmax Staffing and Recruiting is currently assisting our client, a leading Professional Services Firm is currently looking for someone to join their team in the permanent role of Information Technology Manager. This position is based out of their corporate office located in Winnipeg MB with remote working options also available.

Reporting to the COO, the Information Technology (IT) Manager is responsible for leading the IT operations and managing the entire IT environment. This individual will be also be responsible for overseeing the IT cybersecurity governance, risk and compliance of all IT systems. This position will work in close collaboration with the IT team to develop and maintain policies and working procedures, oversee the day to day IT operations and staff, as well as support key technical projects within our organization.

The ideal candidate will have progressive IT and leadership experience, possess an enthusiastic go-getter attitude, with a strong focus on customer service.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the IT team to ensure effective communication, teamwork and prioritization of IT initiatives to support the business
  • Analyze business requirements to develop and execute IT plans and projects to meet business goals
  • Ensure workload prioritization, new policy and process development and implementation with adequate internal control systems, compliance with external guidelines, and a focus on continuous quality improvement
  • Manage enterprise wide IT systems, and ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of IT cybersecurity governance, risk and compliancy framework
  • Identify and manage cybersecurity risks, eliminating where possible
  • Consistently seek opportunities to continually improve the cybersecurity awareness and conduct trainings within the organization
  • Assist in planning the yearly IT budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness of IT infrastructure
  • Support contract negotiation and contract reviews as appropriate for information systems and technology
  • Work to ensure that service levels are achieved or exceeded
  • Build strong relationships across the company and with external vendors to develop a detailed understanding of opportunities and challenges to ensure transparency and collaboration
  • Develop and review key performance indicators to determine productivity, quality of output, and cost of service, with an objective to continually improve results

Required Qualifications

  • A university degree or college diploma with a focus on IT infrastructure, informatics and/or information management
  • Three (3+) years of IT experience
  • Experience managing projects and budgets including enterprise wide technology system implementations and change management approaches
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange
  • Security certifications are a plus (e.g. CISA, CISM, or CISSP)
  • Working knowledge of EMR software technologies. Microsoft SaaS Platforms (Office 365, Azure) and development of SQL queries
  • Demonstrated customer focused approach to problem solving
  • Supportive leadership style with an ability to mentor and develop staff
  • Aptitude for collaborative and creative thinking to support development of innovative technology solutions aligning with strategic objectives
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technology concepts into accessible business terminology
