Staffmax is hiring on behalf of our client, a prominent North American manufacturer and distributor of fencing and perimeter security products. We are seeking an Inside Sales Associate to join their Langley, BC branch.
This position has been integral to our client reaching a $1 billion valuation in 2022. The success of the sales team in generating revenue and delivering exceptional customer service has been key to building a sustainable future and maintaining a 60+ year legacy in the building materials industry.
Role Overview
As an Inside Sales Associate, you will engage with contractors, distributors, and retailers both over the phone and at the branch counter, assisting them with purchasing fencing products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct discovery conversations with existing and prospective customers to identify opportunities for them to grow their business using our products and services.
- Proactively call current customers to generate orders, arrange scheduled deliveries, and promote special offers or sales.
- Collaborate closely with sales and operations teams to achieve sales goals, earning bonuses and spiffs.
- Provide excellent service through phone sales, data entry, and customer interactions.
Preferred Experience & Knowledge:
- Familiarity with building materials such as metals, woods, plastics, and hardware.
- Experience in DIY retail, construction, or mechanical/electrical industries.

What You’ll Do:
- Partner with the outside sales team to expand the product offerings and customer base.
- Gather market intelligence from customers on competitive pricing and industry trends, and report findings to the Branch Manager.
- Respond to inbound phone and email inquiries from contractors and retail customers, processing quotes and orders efficiently.
- Provide post-sale support to customers, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
- Prepare job order quotes based on customer specifications.
- Maintain clear communication with customers throughout the order and shipment process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in customer service or sales.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel required).
