Staffmax Staffing is currently hiring experienced Journeyman Trailer and/or Tractor Mechanics to join our clients' team in Winnipeg, MB.
Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman
SALARY:
- Tractor $38 hr Journeyman/Person
- Trailer $32 hr Journeyman/Person
HOURS:
- Either 8 or 10 hour shifts
- Tractor – Noon to 10:30 p.m. (Shift premium - $3.00/hr)
- Trailer – 3:00 p.m. to Midnight (Shift premium - $3.00/hr); Weekends: Saturday – 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday – 12:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (shift premium - $3.00); Graveyard – 12:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. (Shift premium - $5.00)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and servicing
- Complete electrical, interior, air brake system, tire, body repairs and welding as required
- Facilitate safety inspections
- Repair/replace equipment when appropriate
- Assess equipment to see if they require to be sent out for repair
- Recognize and report faults or malfunctions on all company equipment
- Coordinate with other maintenance staff and the terminal to determine priorities for equipment repair
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Red Seal or Journeyman certification required.
- High school diploma and experience
- Basic set of hand tools required
- Organizational, Interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong work ethic, to work independently and within team
- A wide array of knowledge and experience with tools
- Familiar with the latest vehicle diagnostic equipment
- Experience in preventative maintenance including electrical, interior, air brake, tire, and body maintenance
