Salary: $50,000–$65,000, based on experience

About the Opportunity

Staffmax is recruiting on behalf of a growing Winnipeg-based company in the HVAC and building controls industry. We’re looking for a Junior Estimator who is eager to develop their estimating skills and build a long-term career with the company.

You’ll work closely with experienced team members and ownership while learning how to prepare accurate estimates for commercial HVAC and building controls projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing project estimates and quotes
• Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements
• Complete material and labour takeoffs
• Request and compare pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
• Help maintain accurate estimating records and documentation
• Communicate with suppliers, contractors, and internal team members
• Support project handoffs once work is awarded
• Learn the company’s HVAC and building controls systems and processes

Qualifications

• Some experience or education related to estimating, construction, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, or building controls
• Comfortable reviewing drawings and project documents
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Confident using computers and learning estimating software
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn and grow within the company
• Valid driver’s licence

Experience with Building Automation Systems or controls is an asset but is not required.
