This fulltime, permanent opportunity offers great work experience with a large multinational corporation.
Hours: 3pm - 11pm, 5 days per week
In this role, you will be processing and digesting a high volume of geological samples using various methods and whole rock fusion. This will require lots of repetitive tasks and lifting.
Some knowledge of basic chemistry is needed as you will be working with liquids an chemicals and diligently putting the correct amounts into tubes.
Job Functions:
- Use laboratory equipment and apparatus to process incoming samples
- Conduct analyses using different techniques such as spectroscopy and physical/chemical techniques
- Prepare solutions (gas or liquid)
- Maintain quality standards of raw materials, chemical intermediates and products
- Compile records and interpret experimental or analytical results
- Accurate preparation and documentation of reagents according to written procedure
- Document all material handling
- Halt production where necessary and immediately report problems/issues to the Supervisor
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Education or experience in chemistry / sciences
- Ability to lift 20-40lbs
- Comfortable standing for extended periods of time
