Library Technician (Must have Reliability Security Clearance)

Location:
Yonge Blvd, Toronto, ON M5M 3H9
This is an on-site role, with the possibility of occasional remote work.

Hours of Work:

• Monday to Friday

• 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

• Two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch break

• The confirmed start date will depend on receiving a signed Reliability Security Clearance

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable Temporary Librarian who is eligible to obtain reliability security clearance. The successful candidate will provide research and reference support and assist with developing online library resources.

Mandatory Requirements

Education

• Master of Library or Information Science from an ALA-accredited program

Experience

• Minimum 6 months of experience within the last 24 months in one or more of the following:

  • Reference and research services in an academic library

  • Creating online tools such as LibGuides

  • Instruction and promotion of library resources using online or multimedia tools

  • Development or maintenance of library websites or SharePoint sites

  • Design and delivery of library workshops

Desirable Qualifications

• Ability to work professionally in French

Key Responsibilities

• Provide reference and research services to graduate students focused on strategic and national security studies

• Develop and document instructional materials and online information guides

• Support access to library resources using web-based tools

• Work with a team of librarians to redesign and develop library websites, SharePoint sites, and LibGuides
