Position Summary
Staffmax Staffing & Recruiting is currently hiring a Licensed Diesel Truck Technician / Mechanic for our client in Concord, Ontario. Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on trucks and trailers
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and performance issues
- Repair engines, transmissions, differentials, fuel systems, brakes, steering, and suspension systems
- Complete warranty repairs and documentation
- Conduct road tests when required
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, jacks, hoists, and computerized diagnostics
- Inspect wheel bearings, brake systems, steering mechanisms, and critical components
- Replace and adjust worn or damaged parts
- Ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Complete repairs efficiently with minimal supervision
- Assist with additional shop projects as required
Qualifications
- 5+ years of tractor-trailer or heavy truck maintenance experience
- Valid 310T, Red Seal, or equivalent provincial trade certification
- Valid Class D or Class 3 licence with air brake endorsement, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability on major components
- Experience using welding, hand tools, power tools, and electronic diagnostic systems
- Basic computer skills
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment
- OEM training considered an asset
Physical Requirements
- Regular lifting up to 12 kg
- Frequent lifting up to 23 kg
- Occasional lifting up to 45 kg
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work with tools throughout the shift
- Strong visual awareness and safe work habits in an active shop setting
