Staffmax is hiring on behalf of our client for experienced and licensed Heavy Duty / Truck Technicians in Edmonton, Alberta.

Compensation

  • $42–$45/hour
  • $5,000 Sign-On Bonus
  • Shift Premiums:
    • 2nd Shift: +$3/hour
    • 3rd Shift: +$4/hour
    • Weekend Shift: +$3/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking experienced and licensed technicians who are passionate about vehicle maintenance and repair. This role involves diagnosing, overhauling, adjusting, and repairing a wide range of truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, safety-focused, and experienced in troubleshooting major mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, and differentials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on trucks and trailers
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
  • Complete warrantable repair documentation
  • Inspect brake systems, steering components, wheel bearings, and other critical systems
  • Perform oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, and routine maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, fuel systems, and turbochargers
  • Operate diagnostic and repair equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Road test vehicles when required
  • Complete additional tasks assigned by management

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of practical tractor-trailer maintenance experience
  • Valid Provincial Trade Certification (Red Seal / 310T or equivalent)
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
  • Experience with engines, transmissions, and drivetrain systems
  • Valid Class 3 or Class D license with air brake endorsement, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic systems
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding, non-climate-controlled environment
  • OEM training and dealership experience considered an asset

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift up to 12 kg, frequently up to 23 kg, and occasionally up to 45 kg
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work with tools for extended periods
  • Strong visual and spatial awareness required for inspections and repairs
