Licensed Industrial Electrician (Contract) – PLC & Automation
Location: Mississauga, ON
Duration: 2–3 Months (Project-Based)
Pay Rate: $35–$40/hour
Positions: 2–3 Licensed Electricians
Job Summary
We are seeking 2–3 experienced Licensed Industrial Electricians (Contract) for a short-term industrial project in Mississauga. The ideal candidates will have strong hands-on experience in industrial electrical systems, PLC programming, and automation troubleshooting.
This role requires a highly skilled professional who can work independently, interpret technical drawings, and support complex automation systems while maintaining strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and industrial control system faults efficiently
- Perform preventive maintenance on automated production systems to minimize downtime
- Work with HMI, VFDs, motor control systems, and related automation components
- Install and connect control and power wiring, including breakers, contactors, relays, terminals, transformers, and protection devices
- Perform service upgrades, panel installations, feeder and transformer connections, and motor wiring
- Bend and install conduits, perform cable pulling, and complete raceway installations
- Prepare and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical drawings
- Use AutoCAD to create and review working drawings, layouts, and schematics independently
- Carry out electrical repairs, system upgrades, and deficiency corrections as required
Qualifications
- Valid Electrician’s License (minimum 5 years Canadian industrial experience required)
- Valid G Driver’s License
- Valid Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP) Certificate
- Valid Working at Heights Certificate
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and single-line diagrams
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical drawings and layouts
- Proven experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Strong understanding of industrial automation systems
- Hands-on experience with HMI, VFDs, and motor control systems
- Experience with conduit bending, cable pulling, and raceway installation
- Solid knowledge of three-phase systems, control panels, feeders, transformers, and protection devices
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced industrial environment
