Pay: $25.00–$35.00/hour + Night Shift Premium, based on experience
Position Overview
Staffmax is hiring a Licensed Trailer Technician for a full-time opportunity in Edmonton, Alberta.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive trailer maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs. This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair trailer systems and components.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, suspension, landing gear, frame, air/hydraulic, and refrigeration (reefer) systems.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools and hand tools to accurately identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections.
- Test and verify completed repairs to ensure proper equipment operation.
- Complete accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and work orders.
- Record repair details and track parts using maintenance tablets.
- Review technical manuals, service information, and manufacturer specifications.
- Stay up to date with emerging fleet technologies and repair procedures.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Red Seal endorsement as a Licensed Trailer Mechanic, Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician, or Truck and Transport Technician.
- Proven hands-on experience in trailer maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Trailer structural systems
- Electrical systems
- Brake systems
- Suspension systems
- Landing gear
- Air and hydraulic systems
- Reefer/refrigeration systems
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Comfortable using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and technical manuals.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong safety awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment.
- Ability to safely lift up to 85 lbs.
Compensation & Benefits
- $25.00–$35.00/hour, based on experience.
- Night shift premium.
- $2,500 sign-on bonus.
- 4-day work week: Monday–Thursday.
