RESPONSIBILITIES:
Logistics
- Work with, and manage the shipper/receiver, and implement new processes.
- Generate and maintain computer database documenting all information relating to the import of all shipments into Canada from our suppliers in the United States.
- Audit and track all shipments.
- Oversee all shipments with Carriers and follow to completion, follow up with customers for feedback and satisfaction expectations.
- Liaise with Canada Customs and Sales on requirements, and priorities, expedite with Carriers/Truckers as required
- Implementation of Transit times tables, then provide to administration and sales for Purchases planning purposes
- Initiate the process of claims to Carriers for those damages that require compensation
- Issue required documentation (both LVS and HVS) to Canada Customs for imports coming into Canada.
- Act as the company’s liaison with Canada Customs and maintain all Customs procedures and documentation
- Prepare duty draw back forms for merchandise exported or returned
Customs
- Maintaining customs entry number computer database, and prepare all Customs documentation for importing shipments into Canada (both LVS and HVS)
- Assists in the creation/preparation of shipping documentation of domestic and cross border shipments
- Review documentation received suppliers relating to imports / exports (Canada and USA) for accuracy, making sure entries are made properly, and report discrepancies to correspondent agencies, administration personnel and accounting
- Pull records and/or documentation required for duty drawback reporting for equipment exported/returned into the United States.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of a college 3 year diploma program in Logistics, Materials Management is required along with 2-5 years experience in Customs administration and Canadian trade compliance
- The candidate must demonstrate good understanding of logistical requirements & processes a superior knowledge of Canadian Import & Export principles
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required for this position, including experience with all Canada Customs software
- Ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner, both verbally and in written correspondence in both English and French
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments and key business partners
- Excellent attention to detail and accurate in the completion of tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Bilingual (French/English) preferred
- Valid drivers license preferred
