Staffmax is assisting our client with the hire of a full-time, permanent Machine Operator/Fabricator.

Job Summary

The Machine Operator/Fabricator will manufacture and pack standard and customized CSM products for shipping as scheduled. He/She will also be required to do any and all tasks deemed necessary by his/her supervisor for the safe and efficient operation of the company, including but not limited to customized fabrications, operating a variety of hand and power tools; equipment and machinery: Power Brake, Power Shear, Roll Formers, Punch Press, and Heat Shrink.

Job Functions:

Manufacture standard and customized CSM products in a safe, efficient, quality minded manner.
Set up and operation machines such as Power Brake, Power Shear, Roll Formers, Punch Press, and Heat Shrink.
Location shifts, duties and responsibilities may be amended from time to time in order to support efficient company operations.
Support shipping / receiving as required.
Inspect work of junior employee’s being trained.
As required, provide training to new and/or junior employees with a focus on performing working in a safe, efficient, quality minded manner.
Actively participate and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain good housekeeping practices in work area using the 5s+1 principles.
Adhere to all CSM policies, procedures, notices, and instructions.
Ability to work harmoniously in a team environment and under general supervision.
Assist in the development of work instructions and practices.
Operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner; change over, and preventative maintenance procedure.
Develop shop aids and procedures to complete simple to complex projects.
Check material for conformance prior to fabricating.
Carry out preparation work which includes but is not limited to; standard and custom cutting, and assembly.

Requirements

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
Experience and ability to operate all required machines and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
Well organized, proactive and positive approach in the work place.
Respect diversity - treat others with respect.
Commitment to quality and safety.
Attention to detail and a critical eye for identifying defects.
Time management skills.
A Good command of the English language (read, write, speak) with respect to understanding and following all verbal and written instructions.
Working knowledge of safe packing methods.
Ability to weigh and measure items.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Basic mathematical and numeracy skills.

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
