Staffmax Staffing and Recruiting is assisting our client Assiniboine Downs to find a Maintenance Foreman / Heavy Duty Mechanic and Operator
Pay and Benefits:
- Group Benefit Plan (50% employer/ 50% employee)
- Pension Plan (contribution = 6% of Annual Base Salary — 3% by employer & 3% by employee)
- One additional "vacation day" accumulated for any "holiday" worked (i.e. Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, etc)
- One fuel fill of personal vehicle on a bi-weekly basis
Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain all equipment - full services when needed, including greasing, topping up fluids on a daily basis, etc.
- Repair any equipment as needed (unless required to be repaired off-site)
- Source multiple quotes from outside contractors when required
- Research parts and have delivered or pick up if needed in a timely fashion
- Maintain equipment service logbooks
- Weekly fuel dip stick measurements to be reported to the supervisor along with the daily fuel log sheets
- Heavy Equipment Operation including Loader, Telehandler, Grader, Skid steer, Roll-off Truck and Tractors
- Assist in harrowing tracks and be on radio for horse ambulance if required
- Maintain backstretch roads and roads to the grandstand
- Assist with getting out pipes and walkers in spring and taking out in the fall
- Unload bales for trainers as requested
- Assist Backstretch Carpenter with projects if required
- Load manure trucks at the Headingly site if required
- Shop and yard organization to maintain a professional level of presentation
- Snow removal during winter months (includes being on call)
- Support service to Grandstand and Special Events as required
- Assistance to the Backstretch Supervisor as required
