Staffmax is currently assisting our client in Toronto, ON, to fill 12-15 Market Operator positions. The positions are set to start in March 2024, with interviews taking place in mid-January 2024. As a Market Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing live sporting events using proprietary trading tools in order to observe and execute market trades. A Market Operator will also be expected to continually develop their knowledge of the sporting market and the products assigned to them become experts in their field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate real-time events and determine optimal timing for trade execution.
- Recognize and communicate trading partners' inefficiencies.
- Adhere to established escalation procedures when identifying issues.
- Learn and excel in utilizing trading tools, offering feedback as needed.
- Adjust and evolve alongside the business to align with new procedures and processes.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Practical reasoning and a positive mindset.
- Meticulousness.
- Capacity to focus on the current task, disregarding background noise and activity.
- Proficiency in performing repetitive tasks and processes.
- Fundamental computer/digital skills.
- Basic numerical aptitude.
Nice to Have:
- Understanding of SQL statements.
- Familiarity with Git and/or Mercurial for code management.
- Exposure to the Atlassian suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence).
- Coding skills in VB/C# .NET, Powershell, VB Script, and Python.
- Experience with web interfaces (HTML, CSS, Javascript).
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and testing principles.
Location: Toronto, ON
Wage: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Term: Permanent role
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Sunday – rotation
- Hours: 24/7, with workers scheduled for 30-35 hours per week.
- In-office work.
